Lynda & Murray Farmer’s $50,000 matching gift launched Innovative Therapies campaign

On Giving Tuesday in December 2019, North Saanich residents Murray and Lynda Farmer made a generous offer to match donations up to $50,000.

The couple, who received the Order of British Columbia in 2019 for their philanthropy work, noted, “We are inspired every day by the innovative and caring work happening at BC Cancer, and are honoured to match these donations.”

The Farmer’s gift reflects the power that one family can have on driving community support. Thanks to more than 300 generous donors, the Giving Tuesday campaign exceeded its $50,000 goal.
